Privacy Policy

The law protects the relationship between a client and a psychotherapist, and information cannot be disclosed without written permission. Exceptions include:

Suspected child abuse, dependent adult or elder abuse, for which the therapist is required by law to report to the appropriate authorities immediately.

If a client intends to harm himself / herself/ themself, the therapist will make every effort possible to involve the client in cooperation with ensuring their safety. In some cases, measures regarding mandated reporting will be taken in order to ensure client safety.

If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person/s, the therapist must notify the police and has a duty to warn the intended victim.

Referrals and outside resources may be recommended.
